All those troublesome little nooks on a Firefly are perfect for collecting junk.
There's one in Wash and Zoe's bunk, and it's been filling up with possessions he's acquired from Milliways over the past two years.
- Juggling: From Start to Star by Dave, Dorothy, and Ben Finnigan
- eight stuffed toys of the goose variety
- The Dinosaur Heresies: New Theories Unlocking the Mystery of the Dinosaurs and Their Extinction by Robert Bakker
- Dinosaurus: The Complete Guide to Dinosaurs by Steve Parker
- a fossilized Hemipristis serra tooth
- a petrified fern log
- a plastic case, subdivided into seven compartments, containing seven different fossils; one of them is a therapod toe bone
- a metal Slinky
- a braided leather bracelet; the charm's long worn off, but once upon a time, it could be used to aid in restful sleep
- a small length of twine
- a woven straw design with dried wildflowers, bits of braided ribbon, and a small square of paper attached to it; the paper reads "Share in this gift and our joy as well, this day and always" in English and some unidentifiable language.
- a "Professional Ka-Mai" badge, styled like an ident card
- two remote-controlled cars: one of an unspecified model, the other of a Hummer
- a scaled-down, handmade model of Serenity, complete with lights and working ramp
- a Paradox Squadron badge
- a tube of twelve painted dinosaurs from the American Museum of Natural History
- a wooden assemble-it-yourself dinosaur skeleton
- several more plastic dinosaurs and Hawaiian shirts (like he needs any more)
Somewhere way in the back, fallen out of sight and easy reach (and all but forgotten), are also a battered silver ring that stops time for the wearer (and the wearer only) and a diamond roughly the size of his fist, wrapped in a battered pair of socks. They might be located after a little bit of rooting around, though.
There are a few pieces of Milliwaysian clothing stuffed in with the rest of his clothes, too:
- a Hawaiian-print kilt
- an I ♥ NY T-shirt
- a pair of Hawaiian-print bunny slippers
- a ridiculously huge, purple-and-green hat with little beaded tassels hanging around the brim
- a T. Rex skeleton tie
Wash also received a sailor's bracelet, made from knotted bits of The Black Pearl's rigging and some scrap wire from Serenity, from Jack Sparrow on September 18th. He was still wearing it when he disappeared the next morning.
